Maintenance and Revamping Services for Companies

Routine, extraordinary maintenance and panel cleaning services for corporate PV systems. Find out about our tailor-made service.

Why Maintenance of Photovoltaics is Essential

An efficient PV system is the result of proper installation and regular maintenance. Although rain helps keep panels clean, dirt or debris can accumulate over time and reduce productivity. Maintenance actions, such as cleaning, technical inspection, and replacement of damaged components, are essential to ensure maximum energy yield and prolong the life of the system.

Frequently asked questions

How is the maintenance of an industrial photovoltaic system performed?

Maintenance of an industrial PV system includes activities such as regularly checking inverters, cleaning PV panels to improve efficiency, and overhauling the wiring system. The use of advanced monitoring systems enables accurate diagnosis, reducing downtime and improving overall performance. Early intervention on anomalies increases the longevity of the solar system and its productivity.

How often should an industrial PV system be serviced?

Maintenance of an industrial photovoltaic system should be performed at least once a year to ensure the efficiency of the photovoltaic system and the safety of solar installations. However, in environments with dust, sand, or other debris, PV panel cleaning may need to be done more frequently. Continuous monitoring and periodic inspections are essential to detect malfunctions and optimize energy performance.

Is routine maintenance for PV system mandatory?

Routine maintenance of a PV system is not always mandatory. It is important to make a distinction between:

  • Installations with a capacity of less than 11.08 kW (typically residential installations): although it is not mandatory, it is still essential to ensure the proper operation of the panels in the long run.
  • Plants with power greater than 11.08 kW (generally industrial or commercial plants): for these plants, inspection every 5 years of the connection systems between inverters and the grid is required by law, as stipulated in Resolution 786/2016/R/EEL of December 22, 2016, and in IEC 016 and 21. Even when maintenance is not required by law, it is always recommended and necessary to optimize the performance of the plant.

When is the right time to seek technical assistance for an industrial PV system?

The right time to seek technical assistance for an industrial PV system is when you experience problems in system performance, such as a drop in energy production, remote monitoring anomalies, or inverter malfunctions. In addition, it is advisable to request preventive assistance after a long period of operation to check the overall efficiency of the system and ensure that there is no damage to the PV panels or electrical connections.

Do I have to report maintenance work to the GSE?

Routine maintenance work does not need to be reported to the GSE, unless there are major changes such as technological upgrades to the system or changes in components (e.g., replacing inverters or increasing power). In such cases, the GSE must be notified to ensure compliance with incentives and to update the plant data in the national register.

How often is it recommended to do maintenance for a PV system?

Maintenance on a PV system is recommended at least once a year to ensure the efficiency and longevity of the solar system. This includes checking performance by monitoring the inverter-grid interface systems, cleaning the panels, and performing a general check of the inverters. If the system is located in a particularly dusty or humid area, additional work may be required every 6 months.
